Product Description Graphite Soft Felt Graphite soft felt (also called flexible graphite felt) is a flexible, high-temperature insulation material. I. Thermal Insulation for High-Temperature Furnaces (Primary Application) This is the largest application area for graphite soft felt, where it serves as the insulation layer, heat shield, and furnace lining in vacuum or inert-atmosphere furnaces: · Crystal growth furnaces: heat shields and hot-zone components for Czochralski (CZ) monocrystalline silicon pullers, multicrystalline silicon ingot furnaces, silicon carbide crystal growth furnaces, and sapphire / synthetic crystal furnaces · Vacuum and atmosphere furnaces: vacuum sintering furnaces, vacuum high-pressure gas quenching furnaces, heat treatment furnaces, brazing furnaces, annealing furnaces, graphitization furnaces, and induction furnaces · Photovoltaic and semiconductor equipment: insulation for high-temperature processes in epitaxy furnaces, diffusion furnaces, and similar tools It is worth noting that soft felt delivers markedly better insulation efficiency than rigid felt — at equal thickness, heat loss is lower (at 1150 °C, thermal conductivity is about 0.14 W/m·K for soft felt versus roughly 0.25 W/m·K for rigid felt, an overall insulation performance improvement of up to 44%). In addition, its flexibility allows it to accommodate thermal expansion, and localized damage can be repaired simply by cutting out and replacing the affected section, keeping maintenance costs low.
