Product Description Graphite sealing ring A carbon-graphite mechanical seal ring(also called a seal face, primary ring, mating ring, seat, or carbon washer) is the wearing half of a mechanical seal face pair. It runs against a harder counterface — silicon carbide, tungsten carbide, alumina ceramic, chrome steel or chromium-oxide-coated steel — and maintains a thin lubricating film that allows rotation with minimum friction, controlled wear and low leakage.
